Our mission is to be a resource for educators, stakeholders and community groups to grow the concept of Physical Literacy in the United States. We help strengthen our educators and community leaders while developing models of physical literacy for our local neighorhoods. We also can shape the future of physical education together.
Lead Developer and Founder:
Richard A. Wiles Jr. is a physical education teacher at Severna Park Elementary in Severna Park, Maryland. Rich has presented at numerous conventions on electronic curriculum, teaching physical education with technology, and other topics. He earned a bachelor of science degree in physical education from Salisbury University and completed his master of education degree in school improvement leadership from Goucher College. Rich is a member of SHAPE America (Society of Health and Physical Educators). Rich is the Co-Author of the Physical Education Digital Library by Human Kinetics. Rich lastly worked with OPENPhysED as lead of curriculum development (2018- Summer 2020) and has contributed to the grow of 100,000+ health and physical educators. He currently serves as President of SHAPE Maryland.
